Bengaluru: The chairman of People’s Democratic Party, Abdul Nasser Ma’dani, who has been undergoing treatment at Soukya – a popular wellness centre in Bengaluru – was discharged from the hospital on Thursday.

Ma’dani, an accused in the July 2008 serial blasts in the city, was later sent back to the Central Prison at Parapanna Agrahara, Bengaluru, where he has been lodged in judicial custody since his arrest in August 2010 for his alleged role in the bomb blast conspiracy.

Ma’dani was accompanied with his wife and sons to the jail. He will be taken to Agarwal Eye Hospital again on March 19 for an eye surgery.

Ma’dani was admitted to Soukya on January 7 on the directions of the High Court for treatment of his multiple illnesses. Dr Isaac Mathai, chairman, Soukya, said Madani’s medical condition has improved, but would need constant monitoring. “He would need a monthly follow-up consultation at Soukya.”

Ma’dani underwent eye procedures at Agarwal Eye Hospital. He has been given integrated medical treatment in consultation with the cardiologist, neurologist, nephrologist, urologist, diabetologist at Manipal Hospital.
