Chennai: A fighting hundred by Michael Clarke helped Australia notch up 316 for seven at the end of the opening day of their first cricket Test against India at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here Friday.
Clarke was on 103 at stumps alongside new batsman Peter Siddle.
Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took six wickets for 88 runs.
