Bangalore: The ruling BJP bracing for the March seven Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) election amid heightened dissidence, Wednesday promised a slum-free state in the next five years, drinking water, good connectivity of roads and establishment of a multi-service providing utility in all cities and towns on the lines of "Bangalore One".

The BJP in its manifesto released for the ULB election here assured to set up on-line facility centres to hear public grievances, simplify sanction of house building plans, issue of property identification numbers to all properties and a study centre to study the problems of urban areas named after its veteran leader, late Dr V S Acharya.

All local bodies would get Underground drainage and Sulab Souchalaya will be opened in all wards, the manifesto unveiled by State unit BJP President and Deputy Chief Minister K S Eswarappa said.

Speaking on the occasion, Eswarappa said during last election BJP won 1400 wards out of 4,976 and this time, it would double the winning wards.

Minister for Urban Development S Suresh Kumar, also chairman of the Manifesto Drafting Committee, said the BJP government has provided funds to ULBs in a scale that was not provided in the last 50 years.

Deputy Chief Minister R Ashoka, Former Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, senior leaders E Ashwathnarayana and Pramila Nesargi were present on the occasion.
