Thiruvananthapram: Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai on Friday said that there was no rift between him and Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar.
Labour minister Shibu Baby John was with Ganesh when he went to meet Pillai at the state committee office of the Kerala Congress (B) here on Thursday evening. The meeting, which lasted for over 20 minutes, hinted at a patch up formula being worked out to put an end to the rivalry between the father and the son.
Ganesh Kumar is the lone cabinet nominee of the Kerala Congress (B) headed by his father and veteran politician R Balakrishna Pillai in the ministry. Pillai and Ganesh have been at loggerheads for long.
It is leant that Ganesh Kumar has agreed to obey the party line. Ganesh Kumar is likely to attend the Congress (B) meet to be convened here Saturday.
Ganesh Kumar was at loggerheads with the party leadership for a long period following differences on various issues such as appointment of members to boards and Corporations under the Ministry.
Balakrishna Pillai had alleged his son was 'arrogant' and not adhering to party line. He claimed the party was not satisfied with the style of functioning of the Minister.
