Had my own reservations about Bollywood: Saranya Mohan

Chennai: Actress Saranya Mohan, who is making her Bollywood debut with "Badlapur Boys", says she had reservations about the industry even after she signed on the dotted line for the project.

"I've always pictured Bollywood as a glamorous industry. I'm very choosy about my costumes in films and never have I worn something I didn't like. Hence, when I signed this film, I had my own reservations about the industry and what I have to wear," Saranya told IANS.

But the actress, who has featured in southern movies, was pleasantly surprised when the team let her wear whatever she preferred.

"I had conveyed my request to the team about my costumes. They were kind enough to let me choose what I want wear. I was floored by their professionalism," she said.

"Badlapur Boys", about Kabbadi, is the official remake of Tamil hit "Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu".

Saranya considers herself "third time lucky" because she was part of the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film too.

"The original film carved my career in Tamil and Telugu (movie) industries. I got plenty of offers after I worked in the film. I hope the same fate repeats in Bollywood as well," she said.

"Besides the Kabbadi link, the Hindi version has been changed to suit the local flavour. I have an extended role with lot of dialogues," she added.

"Badlapur Boys", which is directed by Shailesh Varma, also features Nishan, Annu Kapoor and Puja Gupta. It is slated for release Nov 7.
