Maithreya Gowda is married to me, says Kannada Director

Bangalore: The ongoing controversy involving Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda’s son and actress Maitreya Gowda took a new turn on Tuesday with a Kannada film director claiming that he had married Maitreya a decade ago.

Director Rishi, filed a complaint of cheating in R.T. Nagar police station against the actress claiming that he had married the actress 10 years ago on July 17th, 2004. He said that the duo fell in love during the making of the movie, Surya The Great in 2003 and had got married. Rishi said that both stayed in a lodge for 4 months as they did not have a home at that time. In his complaint he also said that after a few months, the actress ran away with 2 lakhs in cash and he could never trace her.

Rishi also claims that the actress cheated a Pune based director the same way. He added that he tried to contact Maithreya after the controversy regarding Karthik erupted. However, the actress threatened him with dire consequences if contacted again, claimed Rishi.

Maithreya’s mother has denied all allegations saying that the actress was 16 years old when Surya The Great was being shot and no wedding took place. She demanded to know how Rishi married a minor girl.

The actress has been admitted to Chaitanya Nursing Home in R T Nagar on Tuesday for weakness and fatigue. She was discharged late in the afternoon.

Maithreya gowda had a week ago lodged a complaint against Karthik Gowda, D V Sadananda Gowda’s son, for rape and cheating, in the R.T. Nagar police station. The Minister had refuted the charges.
