Raai Laxmi lands a plum role in Murugadoss' Akira

Mumbai: Raai Laxmi will make her Bollywood debut in A R Murugadoss’ new film Akira which features Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. Laxmi is a major star down south with hits such as Muni 2: Kanchana and Mankatha under her belt.
The actor has already joined the team on sets.
"Happy 2 announce my first debut in Bollywood as a guest appearance fr @ARMurugadoss sirs movie #Akira a great start (sic)," Laxmi posted on her Twitter page.
Said to be the remake of Tamil sleeper hit Mounaguru, the film also features Anurag Kashyap as the antagonist.
"It was great experience 2 share my screen space with @anuragkashyap72Aa versatile actor director n multi talented," she posted.
The film, a thriller, is currently on floors in Mumbai and is produced by Fox Star Studios.
Akira will also feature Sonakshi's father and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha in an important role. It marks Murugadoss's third Hindi venture after back-to-back hits Ghajini and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.
