'Joy', 'The Revenant' gearing up for Indian theatrical release

Chennai: Golden Globe award-winning films "Joy" and "The Revenant" will hit the Indian theatres on January 22 and February 26 respectively.

According to an official statement from Fox Star Studios, the company will be releasing the film in the country.

David O Russell-directed "Joy" starring Jennifer Lawrence won the best actress for best performance by an actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy.

"Joy" is the story of the title character, who rose to become founder and matriarch of a powerful family business dynasty.

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu- directed "The Revenant", bagged three Globes for best picture, best actor and best director.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, it's about the survival story of a frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820's who fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
