Thiruvananthapuram: Nine persons were arrested Thursday in state wide raids conducted by the anti-piracy cell after prints of recently released Mohanlal starrer "Pulimurugan" were widely circulated on the internet, police said.

The film's producer had lodged a complaint with police in connection with the piracy.

A police press release said Anti-Piracy cell superintendent P B Rajevan had received some information with regard to persons responsible for downloading the film following which arrests were made from Malappuram and Palakkad districts.

Some of the arrested have been identified as Fasil, Shafiq Tariq, Nousheer, Shafiq and Thajudeen.

The state wide raids will continue in the coming days also, Anti-Piracy cell sources said.

"Pulimurugan", which is running to packed houses, recently got the distinction of being the first Malayalam film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
