Actress kidnapped, harassed by group of men; driver arrested

Kochi: A noted Malayalam actress was waylaid by some men who allegedly forced their way into her car and misbehaved with her at Athani near Nedumbassery Airport.
The police on Saturday arrested the actress' driver Martin in connection with the incident.
The actress in her complaint to police, said her vehicle was Friday night hit from the rear by a van at Athani, about 38 km from here. After a verbal altercation, the men in the van attacked the car driver Martin. They then forcefully entered the vehicle and drove to Kochi, she said.
During the drive, the men "misbehaved" with her, by clicking her pictures and making a video, she said.
They stopped the car at Palarivattam in Kochi city and fled the area, the actress said.
She later reached the house of a director, who informed police.
Police have started a probe into the case on a complaint from the actress.
Police has said that one Pulsar Suni aka Sunil Kumar, who was the actress' former driver to be behind the incident. Suni held a grudge against the actress following his sacking as her driver.
According to police, the trap was made with Martin being entitled by a production house to drive the actress to a dubbing studio in a car hired by them. As Martin was associated with Pulsar Suni, he informed Suni about the trip.
Police suspect that the plan was to threaten the actress using her pictures and videos.
