Ayushmann Khurrana changes fee structure to help pandemic-hit producers

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has altered his fee structure considering the pandemic affected the landscape of the film industry and faced losses.

He has made the move to help producers and himself in order to take the load off the film's budget in the beginning. He used to charge Rs 25 cr for a film upfront. Now, the same amount will be paid in installments. His signing fee is now Rs 15 cr and the remaining Rs 10 cr plus profit share will be on the basis of the outcome of the film, reported Pinkvilla.

If the film goes on to become a blockbuster, he will be making more money. Producers also benefit as they don't have to carry the entire cost.

A trade source told Pinkvillait it is a smart move because actors and producers have to work hand in hand for the film industry to recover. "Such moves help the bigger picture. Films need to be made in a cost-effective way across the board. When the film is a hit, the star can end up making more. It is a win-win for everyone."

Ayushmann will be next seen in medical campus comedy-drama Doctor G. He also has Dream Girl 2 and An Action Hero in the pipeline.
