Mumbai: Deepika Padukone, the Bollywood superstar and entrepreneur behind the skincare brand 82°E, recently shared insights into her skincare journey and how her mother, Ujjala Padukone, influenced her approach to maintaining healthy skin.

In a blog posted on the official website of 82°E, Deepika highlighted the impact her mother's "less is more" skincare philosophy had on her, shaping her own outlook and inspiring the products created by her brand.

The top actress revealed that during her teenage years as a professional badminton player, she had little knowledge of skincare practices. Her skincare routine consisted merely of washing her face with water, without cleansing, hydrating, or using sunscreen. However, as her career in modelling and acting took off, she began to notice changes in her skin, such as sunspots, freckles, and pigmentation. This realisation led her to adopt a more comprehensive approach to skincare.

Deepika emphasised the importance of her Cleanse, Hydrate, and Protect routine, which she found to be simple yet highly effective. For more specialised care, she sought advice from dermatologists. Over time, she has come to see her skincare routine as an act of self-love, viewing each step as a mindful act of self-care.

In an Ask Me Anything session a few weeks ago, Deepika fondly spoke about her mother's influence on her skincare beliefs. She shared that her mother's mantra of "keeping it simple, less is more" stuck with her from a young age and has been a guiding principle throughout her skincare journey. Focusing on cleansing, hydrating, and using sunscreen, she has adhered to her mother's advice and maintained a straightforward skincare routine.

Deepika Padukone's brand, 82°E, reflects her commitment to simplicity and effectiveness in skincare, just like her mother's teachings. The brand's products are inspired by the "less is more" philosophy, promoting a mindful and intentional approach to skincare.
