Dior Mumbai fashion show: Rekha steals show in regal silk, Sonam flaunts traditional jewellery

Mumbai: Many A-listers including yesteryear actress Rekha attended the Christian Dior fashion show in Mumbai. The film industry and city elites were part of the show.

The iconic actress was a special invitee and met with the French luxury brand's creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Rekha wore a regal white saree and the Dior executive shared a photograph on social media. She wrote: "I was so touched to meet the iconic Rekha gi last night for the first time. India’s most iconic woman and incredible actress. I am so grateful you have joined us last night, it was a true honour."

Later in the day, Rekha was seen in her trademark Kanjivaram silk saree. The pink saree was paired with a gold potli bag.

Dior hosted a welcome dinner for the invited guests at the Taj Mahal hotel. Simone Ashley, Anoushka Shankar, Poorna Jagannathan, and Charithra Chandran were seen at the event. The Ambanis, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, Karisma Kapoor, Mira Rajput, Ananya Panday, Shweta Bachchan, and Natasha Poonawala also came to the event.

Sonam Kapoor, unsurprisingly, impressed industry insiders with the perfect pairing of a pastel pink Dior outfit and traditional Indian jewellery. "So excited to welcome Dior to India, showcasing the incomparable craft of our country and sharing with world," she wrote on Instagram.

Dior's India-inspired pre-fall fashion show is taking place in Mumbai today at the Gateway of India.
