Drax is a silly performance, may not want it to be my legacy: Guardians Of The Galaxy actor
text_fieldsLos Angeles: Dave Bautista, the actor known for playing Drax in Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' said that he is relieved that his role is coming to an end. The simple-minded socially unaware character is a fan favourite.
Speaking to GQ Magazine, the professional wrestler turned actor said that he is grateful to have played Drax in MCU but he doesn't know if he wants the character to be his legacy. "It's a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff."
He will be next seen in Volume 3 of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' which hits theatres in May 2023.
He added that he wants to work more with Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve. Bautista worked with him in Blade Runner 2049 and Dune. "I think that's how I could find out how good I could be. He brings out the best in me. He sees me in a different light, sees the performer that I want to be. That might be how I solve the puzzle."
"I'm nervous about things. But I can force myself to do things that make me uncomfortable, because I know I'm not going to get anywhere if I don't. I may cringe after the fact, but I'm not going to let that fear hold me back," he further said.
When asked about people comparing him to Dwayne Johnson, he said his intention is not to imitate The Rock but just to be a "respected actor".
