Elemental trailer: Takes viewers to a magical city, promises a layered storyline

Los Angeles: Disney and Pixar's Elemental, one of the most anticipated films of the year, has released its trailer. The short video gives a sneak peek into the original feature film's plot and characters.

Viewers get to see the magical Element City where four communities - water, fire, earth, and air - live and thrive. They all follow one simple rule, "elements do not mix". But it is not acceptable to Ember who is expected to step into her father's shoes. She wants to explore more and hasn't figured out what she wants to do with her life. The trailer hints at the "opposites attract" story after Ember meets Wade, the water guy. He encourages her to leave her comfort zone and explore other sectors of the city.

The writers have made every element fun and lively. The video begins by saying: "Meet the residents of Element City. Air usually has its head in the clouds. Earth can be a little seedy. Water is always getting into something. And fire, we run a little hot." The introductory shots also show how each element can get into trouble.

Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie are voicing Ember and Wade. Other major characters are voiced by Ronnie del Carmen, Shila Ommi, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Catherine O’Hara, Mason Wertheimer, and Joe Pera.

The vibrant trailer has impressed many viewers who described it as an explosion of colour in every shot.
