Interior designer Gauri Khan on Monday launched her book 'My Life in Design' and her husband Shah Rukh Khan was at the event to celebrate her achievements.

The power couple showed up wearing matching black outfits. Gauri wore a black bodycon dress and SRK chose a formal black suit.

The superstar also found time to joke with the media and said: "My wife is launching a book and I have to be here at the launch. She is designing everything around the world except my room and my house. But I am a forgiving person."

He also praised Gauri saying: "Gauri and I have known each other for years. And when you know each other for years, appreciation for each other's work reduces. There is a mediocre sense of creativity in our entire family. Gauri has been very creative, and after 24 years of our married life, we were just busy settling in Mumbai. She never realised that there was an aspect of her that she didn't know was hidden."

"She has done it all by herself and continued doing what she does. Gauri is the busiest person in the house now, more than me, my children, and my sister. We keep asking her why she works so much and she replies because it satisfies her dream. We have learned this from Gauri, that it's important to have a satisfying day at work. Thank you Gauri for giving us this success mantra to the family. I am extremely happy and satisfied that I am here when she is launching this book," he added.

My Life in Design is a coffee table book and Gauri said it is an opportunity to get exclusive glimpses of her family residence Mannat. Speaking to Vogue India, she shared the design process of the famous Mumbai home. "A lot of people—Shah Rukh’s fans especially—have wondered what lies behind the gated walls of Mannat. I would like the readers of this coffee table book to chip in and tell me what work they like more than others, since there are a lot of unseen pictures in the book."

Gauri Khan is among the most sought-after interior designers in India and has done projects for Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Nita Ambani, Manish Malhotra, and Karan Johar.
