Mumbai: Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut has revealed that despite being the "highest-paid actress" in B-town, she wasn't able to pay her taxes because of 'no work'.

The actress took to Instagram to share a story which said, "Even though I come under the highest tax slab and pay almost 45 per cent of my income as tax, even though I am the highest tax-paying actress but because of no work haven't paid half of my last year's tax yet, first time in my life."

The 'panga' actress, however, added that she doesn't mind the government charging interest on the pending amount in these tough times.

"I am late in paying tax but the government is charging me interest on that pending tax money, still I welcome this move." Ending her post on a positive note, Kangana wrote, "Time could be tough for us individually but together we are tougher than the time," she added.

The actress has a list of movies lined up for release in the coming months. The most anticipated one is Thalaivi, which is a biopic on the actress-turned politician late J Jayalalithaa.

Tejas, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda, Dhaakad and an untitled political drama on Indira Gandhi are other films to her credit.
