Joker director Todd Philips took to Instagram to share Lady Gaga's first look in the sequel. The image showed Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga looking at each other while she is holding his face.

The singer is speculated to be playing Harley Quinn in the sequel 'Joker: Folie à Deux'. The director chose Valentine's Day to release the first look and captioned: "Happy Valentine's Day". Gaga was seen with blond hair and an intense look in her eyes. Phoenix appeared to have a bloody nose and cheek.

The original film was a huge success grossing $1 billion and earned Joaquin Phoenix the best actor Oscar. In August 2022, Lady Gaga confirmed her association with the Joker sequel and it is being described as a musical. The singer has previously worked with Philips on 'A Star is Born' which he produced. Lady Gaga was last seen in House of Gucci as Patrizia Reggiani.

The psychological thriller film is set in Gotham City and follows Arthus Fleck, a failed clown with a clinical condition that causes exaggerated or involuntary expressions of emotions like uncontrolled laughing or crying. The city's decay and Arthur's deteriorating mental illness go hand in hand in the film.

The film received a positive response at the box office and from critics as well as industry figures.
