Chennai: Following backlash and police case, actor Mansoor Ali Khan publicly apologised to actor Trisha Krishnan for his controversial comments about rape scenes in movies.
Khan touched off a controversy when he said Tamil movies today offer no rape scene for villains, adding he expected bedroom scenes with Trisha in their movie Leo.
Trisha hit back at the actor condemning his remarks and declared she would never work with him in movies.
Popular villain faced severe criticism on social media alongside police booking him on charges of sexual harassment as well as intent to outrage a woman's modesty.
Ali Khan faced criticism from movie personalities including Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director of the film Leo, singer Chinmayi, actor-politician Khushbu, actress Malavika Mohanan, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, and the South Indian Film Artistes' Association.
More important, the National Women's Commission filed a police complaint against Mansoor Ali Khan.
Initially after criticism, Khan tried to hold his ground claiming his remarks were manipulated.
His line of argument was that he was trying to reflect the changing portrayal of women in Tamil films today.
Faced with the seriousness of the situation, Khan eventually issued an apology to Trisha.
He added that he hopes for the opportunity to bless Trisha’s mangalsutra for her wedding, according to NDTV.
