The Netflix documentary on actress Nayanthara's life is going to be about a lot more than her wedding to Vignesh Shivan. It will also highlight her childhood memories and photographs.

Director Gautham Menon told Pinkvilla that the documentary will show her journey in the industry with her childhood moments and a few glimpses from her wedding. "Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale is not a wedding movie as speculated by many but a documentary on the Lady Superstar."

"She is called Lady Superstar for a reason and we are living up to it. Right from her childhood journey to now, we have included everything. You will get to see a lot of childhood photos, and moments of her also. Vignesh is also a part of it. We are still working on it," said the filmmaker.

Nayanthara married Vignesh Shivan in Mahabalipuram in June after dating him for seven years. The event was widely celebrated by the media and since then, there were rumours that Menon will do a wedding movie on their relationship and marriage.

Over two decades, Nayanthara has done over 75 films and is fondly called Lady Superstar by Tamil audiences. While she has worked in all south Indian film industries, her forte has been Kollywood. She is known for churning out box office successes and carving her own space in the industry dominated by men. Her popularity led to the rise of female-centric films like Anaamika, Maya, Dora, Aramm, and Velaikkaran.
