Cricketer Shoaib Malik on Saturday announced his marriage to Pakistani actor Sana Javed. Malik was previously married to Sania Mirza and the couple share a five-year-old son Izaan.

Malik and Sana had posted pictures on their social media accounts to confirm the news. In the photos, the newly married couple smiled and held each other as they posed for the camera. Malik wore a beige sherwani while Sana wore a traditional outfit.

They captioned the joint post, "Alhamdullilah (red heart emoji). 'And We created you in pairs'.

Sana appears on Urdu television. She made her debut in 2012 with Shehr-e-Zaat and later on, appeared in several serials. She received recognition after portraying the titular role in the romantic drama Khaani, also receiving a nomination at the Lux Style Awards.

The actor also gained praise for her social dramas Ruswai and Dunk. She was previously married to singer Umar Jaswal. The duo got married in 2020 and got separated in November last year.

A couple of days ago, Sania Mirza had shared a cryptic quote post on her Instagram stories.

“Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely (sic),” she wrote on her Instagram story.

Sania and Malik got married in 2010 and they lived in the UAE. Sania's father Imran Mirza on Saturday reacted to the marriage news, saying that his daughter unilaterally divorced the Pakistan cricketer.

Imran Mirza told PTI that "it was a 'khula'", which refers to the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.

One of India’s greatest tennis players ever, Mirza announced her retirement last year. In a career that spanned 20 years, where she won 43 WTA doubles titles, one singles trophy and six Grand Slam titles to her credit, including three women’s doubles with Swiss legend Martina Hingis.

She also won two of her three mixed doubles titles with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi and rounded off her trophy cabinet with a US Open title with Bruno Soares.

The 37-year-old recently donned the hat of mentor to the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the Women’s Premier League.
