Nintendo has revealed the teaser of its anticipated game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The studio is introducing a fresh look with a world set above the sky.

The teaser shows a bird-shaped hoverboard, ancient and cryptic wall scribblings, and a vast kingdom set in the skies above the lands of Hyrule. It is expected that a good part of the adventure is going to be set amongst the clouds.

The player was seen gliding around using a stamina-driven hand glider and fire arrows. The game was originally set to release in 2022 but has now been postponed to May 12, 2023.

The prequel 'Breath of the Wild' is known for popularising the pattern of eliminating unnecessary markers, setting players loose, and free approach. The studio is planning to expand the mechanic with Tears of the Kingdom.

While the teaser did not reveal much, the new Sheikah Slate power appears to reverse time. Link is seen climbing on top of a rock that falls upwards. He also takes a few great leaps into the sky and lands on a glider. There is also a brief moment of Link climbing on its own, reported The Verge.

The official description from Nintendo read: "In addition to the vast lands of Hyrule, the latest entry in the storied Legend of Zelda series will take you up into the skies and an expanded world that goes beyond that! Look forward to Link's massive adventure starting again when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, drops for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023."

Some speculate that the opening line "Link's endless adventure begins again" is hinting at time travel.
