Uorfi Javed denied entry to restaurant over her clothes, netizens call it “cheap publicity”

Social media influencer Uorfi Javed is known for her edgy style. However, it is also widely known that her fashion choices are not everyone's cup of tea.

Yesterday, she took to Instagram stories and claimed that she was denied entry into a Mumbai restaurant due to her fashion choices. She wrote, "W**! Is this really the 21st century? I was denied entry at a restaurant today. It's okay if you don't agree with my fashion choices. It's NOT to treat me differently for it. And if you are, admit it. Don't give some lame excuses. Pissed off!"

She also asked the food delivery platform Zomato to look into the matter.

According to India Today, the influencer got into a heated argument with the restaurant manager over a reservation. The manager said there are no reservations and Uorfi yelled at him. "Mera naam jante ho.. Uorfi Javed... mere liye na jagah ban jaati hai, jaake dekho. Ye seat ka natak nhi hai, ye kapdho ka natak hai, ye mujhe mere kapdho ke vajah se mana kar rahe hain. Sabh samjhti hun mai." (Do you know my name.... Uorfi Javed... Places get created for me, Go look... This drama is not about seats but clothes... You are refusing me due to my clothes. I understand everything.)

The manager was heard repeatedly saying that there are no seats in the restaurant and he is not denying her entry due to her clothes. Wearing a black deep-neck dress with four long thorn-like structures, she was heard yelling at him that he should go inside and tell them that Uorfi is here. She also called him ‘Uorfi hater’ and asked her companion to record the manager despite him asking them not to.

At the beginning of the video, the influencer was seen getting out of the car and going into the restaurant. With the manager, she said: "You will find a place. Please go check. I am very hungry." The manager responded by saying, "Please try to understand. The place is full because a dining carnival is going on."

The video has gone viral on Instagram and many in the comments called out Uorfi for creating a scene for no reason. Some said the video is staged and others think she created the issue for controversy. Some asked if she has lost her common sense. Some also alleged that she is aiming for "cheap publicity". One user said that she has forgotten to be humble after gaining fame.
