Varun Dhawan teams up with Atlee for an action entertainer

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has always been vocal about his love for the action genre. He once said that an action film is on top of his wish list.
Now, he is teaming up with Atlee and Murad Khetani for an action entertainer. The female lead and antagonist will be confirmed by June. The film will start shooting by July end or Early August. It is set for a summer 2024 release, reported Pinkvilla.
"Varun has been in talks with Atlee and Murad Khetani for a feature film for a while now and the actor is all set to commence shooting for the same by Early August. It’s a proper commercial entertainer and at present in the pre-production stage. The team is coming together to create a big-scale action experience for the audience. The team is presently working to get the entire technical crew on board, side by side the ensemble," said a source close to the development.
"While it is an action film, the story is also high on emotion and drama. The team is looking to create stylish and larger-than-life sequences for Varun. The film will be shot over a period of four to five months as the makers are targeting it to be the big Summer 2024 release in cinema halls across the globe," they added.
Atlee is ready to make his Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan which will hit theatres on 7 September 2023. Varun Dhawan is currently working on the Indian version of Citadel, a spy action thriller.
