Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor said she would like to play legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar or her maternal aunt and actress Padmini Kolhapure on screen.

She was attending a fan event hosted by a leading media portal, where she interacted with her fans and shared insights into her aspirations and upcoming projects. During the event, one of her fans asked her about her choice of portraying a historical figure in a biopic. To this, another person from the crowd suggested that she could play her maternal aunt, actor Padmini Kolhapure.

Enthusiastically responding to the fan's suggestion, Shraddha said, "Best answer! Best answer! I think ki yeh bohot hi achcha suggestion hai. Padmini Kolhapure meri masi jo hai. (I think this is a good suggestion and Padmini Kolhapure is my aunt, anyway) I would also wish to say Lata Mangeshkar. I mean, it's a very big aim, but you never know. So it's my masi & Lata Mangeshkar Ji." Her statement left her fans amused and excited at the prospect of her portraying these celebrated figures on the big screen.

Shraddha Kapoor has carved a niche for herself in the film industry with several blockbuster hits to her credit, such as Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, and Haider. While she has displayed her versatility as an actress, Shraddha expressed her interest in taking up challenging roles in biopics, particularly that of her aunt Padmini Kolhapure and the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.

As for her forthcoming projects, Shraddha Kapoor was last seen in "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar," where she shared the screen with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time.

Her next venture is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror comedy, "Stree 2." Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film will reunite Shraddha with her co-stars from the original, Rajkummar Rao, and Aparshakti Khurana. The first schedule of "Stree 2" was recently wrapped up in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, and the movie also features talented actors like Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee.

There are also reports suggesting that the "Aashiqui 2" actor may share the screen with South Indian star Rana Daggubati in an upcoming movie titled "Most Wanted." Apart from "Stree 2," Shraddha Kapoor also has "Chaalbaaz In London" in her pipeline, promising a diverse array of projects for her fans to look forward to.
