Bengaluru: Kannada superstar Yash promised to contribute Rs 1.5 crores to help daily wage workers in the film industry who have been badly affected due to the ongoing COVID restrictions.

The KGF actor took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that he'll be crediting Rs 5000 each to the personal bank accounts of around 3000 daily wage workers in the Kannada film industry.

The actor also stated that though this is not a permanent solution to the loss suffered by them, wants to instil hope and faith in them through his actions.

His note on Instagram read, "Covid 19 has proved to be an invisible enemy that has dismantled the livelihoods of innumerable people across our country. Our own Kannada Film fraternity has been badly affected as well. In light of the grave times we live in, To each of the 3000 odd members which include all the 21 departments of our film fraternity, I will be donating from my earnings, a sum of Rs 5000 to their personal accounts. While I am very well aware that this may not serve as a solution to the loss and the pains caused by the situation we are in, it's a ray of hope, since it's HOPE that is the certainty of faith, Faith of better times (sic)."

Meanwhile, the industry is eagerly waiting for the release of Yash's KGF: Chapter 2. The film directed by Prashanth Neel and also featuring Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Achyuth Kumar, and Raveena Tandon is expected to revive Box-office.
