Nuh: Eight women were hurt on Thursday night after some kids allegedly threw stones at them from a mosque in Nuh, Haryana, according to police. This incident caused further unrest in the area.

According to a video that the police saw, minors were hurling stones at a group of women who were travelling to a kuan (well) poojan, Nuh Superintendent of Police (SP) Narendra Bijarniya said. The incident occurred about 8:20 p.m., the police report states, India Today reported.

"There was some construction work going on in the mosque. The women were going for Kuan poojan when they were hit by stones. We will question the children seen in the footage," Bijarniya said.

The SP said both sides were pacified as tension gripped the area following the incident. "Now, there is complete peace in the area," he added.

Bijarniya claims that an FIR has been filed in relation to the situation.

The incident happened after a crowd assaulted a Vishva Hindu Parishad Braj Mandal Yatra on July 31, killing six persons in racial riots in Nuh, including two home guards and a cleric. The violence extended to nearby Gurugram and other locations.

Notably, during the violence against the Nuh, Bijarniya was the acting SP. He took over for IPS officer Varun Singla, who was on leave when the fighting broke out.
