AAP continues nationwide protests, Sisodia will appear in court shortly

New Delhi: A day after the CBI arrested Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, the AAP is protesting nationwide against the arrest with AAP supporters taking to streets.

CM Manish Sisodia was arrested in connection with the alleged liquor excise policy case and he will be produced before the court shortly, according to The Indian Express.

AAP workers who clashed with paramilitary forces were detained during their protest outside the BJP headquarters at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg. The personnel resorted to lathicharge to disburse crowds.

Earlier Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Monday said that he had been informed that most CBI official were against Manish’s arrest.

“All of them have huge respect for him and there is no evidence against him. But the political pressure to arrest him was so high that they had to obey their political masters,” Kejriwal reportedly said.

Meanwhile, the BJP on Sunday called Kejriwal as the real kingpin of the ‘excise scam’, adding that ‘he is the next’.

The BJP according to The Indian Express began gradually heaping on AAP corruption charges since July last year.

It is built upon L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena’s recommendation for a CBI probe in the ‘Excise Policy Scam,’ according to The Indian Express.

AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj said that Delhi police arrested AAP leaders and workers for protesting.

“All these constables and head constables here know that there are children will become IPS officer and engineers because of Sisodia. They also know that their children are getting education due to Manish Sisodia' Bharadwaj said.
