Bollywood filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is gearing up for a second, impactful release this year. His socio-political drama 'Bheed' will premiere on November 18. Following his motto, the Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Padnekar starrer is expected to make the audience think.
Sinha said Bheed started with a small idea that soon metamorphosed into a screenplay. "It has a subject that was built from a nagging thought in my head".
Contrary to many Bollywood filmmakers, Sinha believes entertainment has the responsibility of making the audience think. He said that he has attempted that with every one of his films. "That's what we are doing with Bheed".
Sinha is known for making movies like 'Article 15' and 'Thappad'. His upcoming film 'Anek' exposing the geopolitics of the North East region of India is set to hit screens on May 27.
He added that in Bheed, he has the good fortune of working with an excellent cast. "Bhumi, Raj, and Dia are so good in the film". The filmmaker claims his crew was an important pillar of strength that pushed him to do better each day.
"I had the support of Bhushan Kumar, who is a dream collaborator. I can't wait for everyone to watch the film," said Sinha.
Producer Bhushan Kumar called Bheed to be one of the most important films of 2022.
Speaking about director Sinha, he said Anubhav is a filmmaker who wants his distinct voice to reach the length and breadth of the country. "Bheed is that film, that story which has the power to get everyone talking in one voice"
Bheed was shot in November-December 2021 and will hit the screens on November 18, 2022.
