Armed gang robs 25 kgs of gold from Muthoot Finance branch in Hosur

Tamil Nadu: A five to six-member armed gang in broad daylight robbed gold and jewellery worth crores from Muthoot Finance branch in Hosur, Krishnagiri. Primary investigation has analyzed the loss of about 7 crores in the robbery that took place today.

Soon afterwards the branch was opened at around 10:30 in the morning, a group of masked men carrying weapons stormed into the office, rounded up the employees, tied their hands and forced them to open up the lockers. The thieves ransacked the office and took away 25,091 grams of gold and Rs 96000 in cash while keeping the workers hostages and fled minutes after the robbery.

It was only when the bank manager Srinivasa Rao who came to the office later found the workers tied up and immediately alerted the police about the incident.

Krishnagiri police have collected witness statements and investigation the case. Hosur is a town located on the Kerala-Karnataka border.
