Army Personnel Shoots Self Dead in Central Kashmir, Second Incident in a Week

An Army personnel, on Tuesday, shot himself dead with his service rifle in Chatrgul camp of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, officials said.

The deceased army personnel has been identified as Jasmeet Singh, son of Makhan Singh, sevice id 155 14259, the deceased was posted at RR Delta Company-D and belonged to Haryana.

A case has been registered at Police Station Kangan and the army has ordered an in-house enquiry to find the reasons behind the person taking such an extreme step.

Earlier, on October 1, army personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JKLI) shot himself dead in North Kashmir's Baramulla district, making this incident second in a week.
