Interior designers car chase led to models death in Kochi: Kerala Police

Kochi: The Kerala police probing the death of three including two models who died in Kochi, on Wednesday said that the arrested interior designer in the case had chased the models in his Audi car which lead to the accident.

According to a report of the police probing the case, the accident during the early hours of November 1 was caused after the car in which the models were travelling was chased by SyjuThankachan in his luxury car. The overspeeding car in which the models were travelling crashed while trying to avoid hitting a two-wheeler.

Syju who works as an interior designer in Kochi used to attend the DJ parties in the hotel regularly. CCTV visuals near the accident site revealed he had chased the model's car in an Audi car and vanished after realising that Ansi and Anjana died on the spot.

A senior official of the crime branch told PTI that the mobile phone of the interior designer, Syju Thankachen who was earlier arrested in the case, contains many incriminating evidence including videos of drug abuse.

Former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabeer, her friend and runner-up in the Miss Kerala contest Anjana Shajan and their friend Mohammed Ashiq were killed in the accident while the car driver Abdul Rahman survived with injuries. They were returning after a DJ party at No. 18 hotel at Fort Kochi.
