Arunachal CM shares landscape video, Netizens impressed with pristine Tawang

The beauty of Arunachal Pradesh is trending on social media after Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared drone footage of Tawang. The pristine landscape of Beghar village is positioning it as a must-visit destination.

Sharing the video on Twitter, the CM wrote: "It's Beghar village in Tawang. So green and magnificent! Great are the people who take pride in taking care of their village so well. Beghar is a must-visit destination. Join #DekhoApnaPradesh campaign and enjoy the beauty and diversity of our sweet #Arunachal."

The 'Dekho Apna Pradesh' campaign was launched last year to promote tourism and revive the pandemic-hit hospitality sector. Khandu has shared the beauty of his state before also and he pays special attention to rural areas.

The 45-second video shows the green foliage and surrounding environments of the village. Mountains and clouds also make a distant appearance. Homes of the rural area and surrounding forests are also seen.

In February, another such video shared by the chief minister went viral for featuring an artist from the Monpa Institute of Performing Arts playing a folk song. It was also shot in the Tawang district but in a village named Bongleng. Another video of the Nyishi tribe performing an ancestral ritual in the town of Chayang Tajo also garnered a lot of attention.

Tawang is to the north of the Tawang Chu river valley. It is one of the most visited places in North East India even though it requires an Inner Line Permit (ILP) issued by the government before traveling. It is most popular for the 400-year-old monastery and small lakes.
