Karbi Anglong: Around 100 houses and shops were burnt in a fire in the Lahorijaan area near Bokajan in Assam's Karbi Anglong district. It is along the Assam-Nagaland border. One four-wheeler and three motorcycles were also damaged in the fire.

The police said the fire was started by cylinders bursting. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Bokajan, John Das said no one has been hurt in the incident, reported ANI. "Fire tenders have reached the spot and tried to douse the flames. At least 100 houses, business establishments, and shops have been damaged in the fire incident."

Officials suspect that a short circuit started the fire.
