Bhopal college gets free of roaming tigers after ten days

Bhopal: A wild tiger that entered the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology's (MANIT) campus in Bhopal 10 days ago has been captured. The big cat was named T-123-4 and killed two cows since October 3.
Forest officials think it left the prestigious campus two days ago. However, another tiger entered the 650 acres of campus and officials managed to capture it. It walked into one of the three cages set up with bait. The wild animal will be released in the Satpura Tiger Reserve in Narmadapuram.
"It ventured into the institute possibly on October 8-9. It walked into one of the three cages put up with baits on the campus. We are going to release the feline in the Satpura Tiger Reserve in Narmadapuram," Bhopal Divisional Forest Officer Alok Pathak told PTI about the second tiger.
"Earlier, a tiger named T-123-4 sneaked into the institute on October 3, killed two cows, and attacked two other bovines. It is believed to have left the campus two days ago," he added. Officials had set up 16 cameras in the institute to get visuals of the tigers. Around 50 employees are still keeping an eye on the campus.
Due to the tiger sighting, around 5,400 undergraduate students got a mid-term break from October 11-30. Around 600 PG students are still attending classes on campus. The institute said the management has the assurance that the tiger has been barricaded in the forest area of the campus. Around 5,000 hostellers and 1,000 family members of staff live on the campus, said public relations officer Dr Amit Ojha.
