New Delhi: Angered over comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a ‘poisonous snake’ by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, a BJP MLA from Karnataka called former Congress President Sonia Gandhi a "vish kanya" and an agent of China and Pakistan, leading Congress leaders to accuse the BJP and its top leaders of hurling abuses and insults at Sonia Gandhi.

The BJP MLA from Karnataka criticized former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, calling her a "vish kanya" and accusing her of being an agent for China and Pakistan. He also defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he has been accepted by the entire world and is welcomed by America with a red carpet.

He accused Congress leaders of dancing on Sonia Gandhi's orders and making derogatory comments about Modi. The comments were made during a speech in Koppal on Friday.

In response, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge backtracked from his earlier statement in which he compared Modi to a venomous snake. Kharge clarified that he did not intend to hurt anyone's feelings and that his statement was directed at the BJP's ideology rather than Modi personally.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal tweeted that the BJP continues to use filthy language against their leaders during every election and questioned if Prime Minister Modi endorses such language.

Another Congress leader, Randeep Singh Surjewala, stated that the BJP and its leaders in Karnataka have lost their political and mental balance. He accused them of hurling filth and muck at the Congress leadership due to their frustration over the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka.

Surjewala added that such behaviour is a product of their ugly character and dirty mindset, and they have lost all sense of propriety and political balance.

The Congress party is hoping to dislodge the BJP in the upcoming polls on May 10th. Surjewala called the abuse hurled at Sonia Gandhi the worst kind and accused the BJP and Prime Minister Modi of making a profession out of abusing the Nehru-Gandhi family.

He mentioned that Modi had previously used filthy language to insult Sonia Gandhi by calling her "Congress Ki Vidhwa" and "Jersey Cow". Surjewala called on Prime Minister Modi to show his decency and dignity by expelling the BJP MLA from the party.
