Bhopal: Opposition Congress lashed out at BJP MP Pragya Thakur aka Sadhvi Pragya who gained bail on health issues is seen dancing and playing Kabaddi in a video. She is reported to have evaded appearing before the court in cases related to terrorists' activities citing her illness on many occasions.
Congress claims that her plea to receive bail in the Malegaon blasts case has no merit on the basis of health as she appears physically active and fit.
In one of the latest videos, the saffron-robed parliamentarian is seen enjoying a round of kabaddi with women players at a ground in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, her constituency. She was visiting a Kali temple on Wednesday when the players urged her to join them.
Congress leader BV Srinivas tweeted: "When is her next hearing at the NIA (National Investigation Agency) court?" In response to the video of Thakur playing kabaddi. Thakur has also repeatedly sought concessions on the basis of health grounds, including receiving the Covid-19 vaccine at her house instead of at a clinic. Congress alleges that she is faking the entire medical issue in order to avoid summons in the case.
Following the 2008 Malegaon bombings, in which six people were killed and over 100 injured, Thakur was arrested as one of the prime accused in October 2008 under terrorism charges. The NIA had earlier dropped several serious charges against her but charges of terrorism remain.
