COVID-19: India records 7,081 fresh cases, 264 deaths in last 24 hours

COVID-19: India records 7,081 fresh cases, 264 deaths in last 24 hours

As per the Health Ministry, 7,081 people have been tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With 264 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll in the country has mounted to 4,77,422.

However, 7,469 recovered taking the overall recovery count to 3,41,78,940. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.38 per cent. Active cases account for 0.24 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Over 1.37 crore population have been vaccinated countrywide thus far. The weekly positive rate stands at 0.61 per cent; less than one per cent for the 35th consecutive day.

Over 17.54 crore unutilised vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories, the Health Ministry added.
