Cricketer Gautam Gambhir has appealed to BJP President J.P. Nadda to relieve him of his political responsibilities so that he can focus on his cricketing commitments.

In a message posted on X, Gambhir expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for allowing him to serve the people.

Gambhir, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on March 22, 2019, contested from East Delhi in the 2019 general elections and emerged victorious by a significant margin. He was subsequently honoured with the Padma Shri in 2019, recognizing his contributions.

Known for his successful stint as captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gambhir will now take on the role of mentor for the team in the upcoming IPL season.
