Patna: Do not want a post in the INDIA bloc but wishes to hear the finalised seat-sharing formula, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Monday. He said that seat sharing in every state must be finalised as soon as possible, IANS reported.

"I do not wish for any post. Leaders of other parties make statements about me but I am saying right from the beginning that I have no wish for any post.

"I just want that the seat sharing formula must be finalised as soon as possible in all states," the Chief Minister said while interacting with the media persons.

He said that the meeting of the INDIA bloc took place in a positive manner in Delhi.

"We have decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections collectively," the Chief Minister said.

Last week, West Bengal Cheif Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee said that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge should be made the convenor of a committee to oversee seat sharing between the INDIA bloc constituents in general elections 2024.

She also said Kharge should be the prime ministerial face of the alliance. However, there was no decision on either of the proposals, sources said

BJP leader Agnimitra Paul recently challenged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to contest against PM Mod in Varanasi in 2024 polls.

'Why doesn't Mamata Banerjee contest from Varanasi? If Mamata Banerjee has the courage to compete in place of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, then she should do that. You want to become Prime Minister, right? Then she should contest against our Prime Minister,' news agency ANI quoted Agnimitra Paul as saying.
