Friendships between animals are the perfect plot for a children's book. In a recent viral video, such a partnership earned praise. A dog was seen helping a monkey steal a bag of chips from a store.

The amusing video already has over 2,500 likes and 29,000 views on Instagram.

The 11-second-long video was originally posted on Twitter in December 2021. The dog is standing in front of a store and the monkey is sitting on its back and reaching for the chips. After falling once, the monkey quickly climbs back to its friend's back and stays there to regain calm.

It was shared on Instagram recently by Memes.bks with a caption 'who says monkey and dog are not good friends'. It refers to the old saying that monkeys and dogs cannot be friends. A similar video was shared by The Dodo channel on YouTube in which a wild monkey was seen riding its friend, a dog everywhere. It has over 10 lakh views and 17,000 likes.

However, it should not come as a surprise that two animals closest to humans in terms of cultural intelligence have formed an alliance to get what they want. Tales of dog-monkey friendships are not new at all.

It has been proven that robbing and bartering items are common in some groups of monkeys. In some parts of the world, thieves train small monkeys to carry out thefts.
