Srinagar: The Kashmiri journalist, Fahad Shah, who had been released twice on bail before being arrested under Public Safety Act, has been accused of instigating terror and fear in the valley by misusing the profession.

In a Jammu and Kashmir Police submitted dossier before the District Magistrate of Srinagar, it has been underlined that how Shah's stories which is particularly selective narrative in nature and in line with ISI/separatist propaganda are adversely affecting the national security.

"Through your online news portal, you are constantly propagating stories in a particular selective narrative which is in line with the ISI/separatist propaganda over the last two years you have followed a selective/particular pattern of disseminating anti-Indian sentiment in a very subtle manner though some of the stories are brazenly proactive as well," the dossier read.

Shah has also been accused of posting anti-national content which has a multidimensional adverse impact on sovereignty and unity of the country on his news portal-the Kashmirwalla- which is alleged to have been against the ethics of journalism.

The J&K Police see the posting of one or two pieces of stories in a month which in a line of victimhood narrative, glorying stone pelters, terrorists and justify separatism and violence as his modus operandi with an intention to disintegrate the unity of the state.

Referring to previous cases against him invoking substantive laws, dossier said he had been given several chances to mend his ways by releasing Shah on bail. It has been mentioned in the dossier to justify the stringent laws on which Shah has now been arrested, with a note that he could cause serious damage and pose serious threat to the security of the Union Territory of J&K.
