Mumbai: Kajal Shingala, also known as Kajal Hindustani, who is known for making communally charged hate speeches targeting the Muslim community, has had an FIR filed against her.

Her speech reportedly triggered a communal clash between two religious groups during a rally organized by the Sakal Hindu Samaj on February 26 in Vashi, Navi Mumbai.

The Navi Mumbai police in Maharashtra have registered a case against Kajal Hindustani based on a complaint filed by activist Neela Limaye on behalf of Salokha Samiti.

The First Information Report (FIR) says that Kajal made a speech during the rally where she referred to vegetable and fruit vendors at the market and said, "Abdul (referring to a specific community), if you can hear me, please note that my Hindu brother is boycotting you." The complainant also alleged that people who participated in the rally were shouting slogans and carrying posters with communal messages.

According to The Indian Express, Kajal Hindustani was booked under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 153B (imputations and assertions prejudicial to national integration), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In another case, Kajal was arrested on April 9th in Gujarat for reportedly giving a hate speech during Ram Navami celebrations in Una town, Gir Somnath district.

The speech was allegedly delivered at a public meeting organized by Shree Ramkrushna Janmotsava Samiti in Tower Chowk as part of the celebrations on March 30th. After the speech, a riot broke out in the area.

Kajal was granted bail on April 13th. On her Twitter profile, which has 119,000 followers, Kajal identifies herself as an entrepreneur, research analyst, social activist, nationalist, and proud Indian.
