Got clean chit in raids linked to liquor policy, says Manish Sisodia

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's bank locker was raided by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the liquor policy case. He said the officials found "nothing" at his home and locker. He added that his family has received a "clean chit" in the raids.
Yesterday, he said the CBI is welcome to raid the bank locker in Ghaziabad and his family will fully cooperate.
Sisodia told the media that the locker has jewellery worth about Rs 70,000 belonging to his children and wife. "I am happy that the Prime Minister got my home raided, my locker was searched, but nothing was found. My family and I have got a clean chit in all the raids ordered by the Prime Minister," said the AAP politician.
His home was raided for 14 hours about two weeks ago.
He alleged that the CBI was under pressure by the Prime Minister to find something that could put him in jail for a few months. The deputy CM stated that the investigating officers behave decently during the raids. "Even they know nothing will be found."
Supporting his co-worker, AAP chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that the entire investigation was "inspired by dirty politics". He wrote that he hopes the Centre will end dirty politics and will let us work.
Manish Sisodia handles the Delhi government's excise portfolio. He is among the 15 people accused in the FIR filed by the CBI in the liquor policy case. According to the central agency, the new policy did not have the permission of Delhi's then Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal before being introduced. The FIR alleges that the AAP government gave licenses to ineligible vendors and took bribes.
The liquor policy was introduced in November 2021. After allegations of corruption surfaced, the Delhi government withdrew it in June. The AAP has rejected allegations of irregularities and claimed the policy was implemented with complete transparency.
