Hailstorms and rain damage crops in over 1L acres in Maharashtra, says NCP leader Ajit Pawar

Mumbai: Unseasonal rains and hailstorms in Maharashtra have destroyed crops like onion, papaya, and grapes in over one lakh acres, said Opposition leader Ajit Pawar.
He demanded that the state government provide aid to the affected farmers. "I will also apprise them of the losses faced by farmers." He added that he will meet with CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
When asked about Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray meeting NCP president Sharad Pawar, he said he is not aware of what happened during the meeting. "The two leaders had not met for a long time. The rally of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (of which the NCP and Thackeray-led Sena are constituents) is also scheduled in Mumbai on May 1."
When the media asked about the reports of the Enforcement Directorate giving him a clean chit in the alleged Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank scam, the NCP leader said the probe is still going on.
About the Congress leaders criticising NCP, he said the MVA allies should resolve their differences among themselves and not speak to the media. He added that he will be speaking about it at a rally in Nagpur on April 16.
