Himachal CM announces Rs 1500 ex gratia for Covid warriors

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, on Thursday, announced Rs 1,500 ex gratia for all class 3 and 4 employees, composed of staff nurses, ward boys and Asha workers involved in treating Covid-19 patients. The CM also announced financial incentives for tourism, transport and school sectors to overcome the losses incurred due to the pandemic.

The Chief Minister announced a subvention scheme for three months till June for the tourism industry while attending a state-level Himachal Day function at Padhar in the Mandi district. All hotels and tourist lodges would be exempted from paying demand charges for two months, and neither will they have to pay late charges instantly. Instead, they could pay them in easy instalments. Likewise, private schools too would not have to pay demand charges.

The CM also announced an interest subversion scheme for the transport section to avail financial facilities, including a 50 per cent concession on special road tax on stage carriage for three months from April and a 50 per cent concession on passenger tax for three months on taxis and contract carriage.
