Department of Posts (DoP), Ministry of Communication, released postage stamps commemorating 75th anniversary of India's tryst with United Nations. "The function was attended by External Affairs Minister M. Jaishankar, and Secretary of Postal Department," Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

"As a founding member of United Nations, India has been in the forefront of peacekeeping operations led by United Nations," External Affairs Minister said.

India is one of the founding members of the United Nations and signed the UN Charter on 26th June 1945. Later after ratifying the charter, India officially joined the body on 30th October 1945.
