New Delhi: On Monday, India registered 547 new Covid-19 cases and took the cumulative count to 4,46,66,924, Union Health Ministry updated. The latest count is the least in a day in two years, PTI reported.

In the last 24 hours, India reported one Covid-19-related death from Maharashtra, and the total official death count reached 5,30,532 as per the 8 am update by the ministry.

On April 8, 2020, India reported 540 cases.

While the active cases stand at 9,468, it is 0.02 per cent of the total infections reported. The Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to reach 98.79 per cent, the ministry stated. In the said 24 hours, 2,839 patients recovered from the illness, and total recovery has reached 4,41,26,924, and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent.

The ministry further said that 219.80 crore doses of vaccines had been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.

India's COVID-19 infection tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and the one-crore mark on December 19.

The country crossed the grim milestones of two crore COVID-19 cases on May 4, three crore on June 23 last year and four crores on January 25 this year.
