India reports 1.45 Lakh new cases, active cases now over 10 Lakh

New Delhi: India recorded the highest ever single-day rise in Covid-19 cases on Saturday morning with 1,45,384 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the total tally to over 1,32,05,0926, reported the union health ministry.
Apart from the fresh cases, India also reported 794 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Ten states including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan have shown a steep rise in daily Covid-19 cases accounting for over 83% of the fresh cases.
Among these, Maharashtra continues to be the biggest contributor as the state clocked in 58,993 new Covid cases taking the total number of cases to 32,88,540 on Friday. The state has been recording more than 55,000 cases over the past few days.
Over 6.16 lakh infections have been reported just in the last five days and 3,335 people have died during this period.
