Noida: Upon complaining against the use of loudspeakers during a Hindu religious event in a residential society in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a journalist and his family were allegedly attacked by a mob.

News18 journalist Saurabh Sharma claims mob members disparaged him as an "anti-national and Pakistani". His wife was also allegedly abused.

On Sunday night, the incident took place in Noida's Oxford Square Super Tech Enclave 3 society, where residents had organized a Jagran al religious ceremony where devotional songs are sung overnight.

Sharma alleged that the mob attacked him when he had asked them to show the permission orders, News18 Hindi reported. The journalist claimed he was called a "Pakistani", and chased till his home.
